I have traced my family back to the line of Robert Williams born in1839? who joined the merchant navy and married a Maltese lady. I am looking for any information which takes me back further than Robert, also I was hoping that if there are any decendants from his line whether there are any old photos of members of the Williams family I may find of interest and which I could take some prints of

He was harbourmaster and/or coastguard during the World War 2. I would like to know where he lived during that time. And any other info that you may have about him and his life and times. Thankyou.

- Hello!
After to moving to beautiful newton last year I am a little dissapointed of the lack of areas to walk my dogs. I have discovered court wood and brooking down wood and kitley but does anyone know of anywhere else I could go? I live in Butts Park and would love a walk where I don't have to bundle my furry friends in the car first. I would really appreciate any emails with popular dog walks. Thank you so much,
Danielle

- I am writing a book on my grandfather, John Iliffe Poole who was the reading room steward from the 1930's to 1950's who lived in Glen Cot and the adjacent tied cottage with my grandmother Winifred. They held 'open house' at Glen Cot for up to 70,000 service men and women and I have the visitors' books, writings, poems and drawings from that time. Has anyone any information or memories of that time? My mother was Barbara Poole and she married RAF Fl/Lt Witt Wittridge at Holy Cross Church in 1947. My grandfather had a laryngectomy operation in 1923 and became the longest surviving laryngectomee and he died in 1979.

- Notice:
- Dear boat owners and potential owners...
We already have several boats under our care on the river and at the pontoon in particular. With this lovely weather that we haven't been having, the harbour master tells me he is increasingly dismayed at the number of boats sinking due to lack of attention. We are here to help and already bail out tenders and other vessels after heavy rainfall. If you find it hard to get down to empty your boat then for £5 a month we can ensure it is bailed out after rainfall, doesn't go adrift, and is well looked after, checking on it every other day. Please go to www.storm-marine.co.uk and click on the "storm care" link or call me on 01752 872 475
