University of the Third Age

The U3A is a self help ‘club’ using local expertise to teach and/or discuss a wide range of interesting topics with a local audience.   There are already over 150,000 members in the UK in 574 groups.   Recently a senior representative addressed a very successful open meeting following which a steering committee was formed to explore the possibilities for a local group.  Several subjects are being progressed and participants are invited to join in any of the groups which might be of interest…initial ideas are  Art Appreciation, Painting with oils, Genealogy, History, Music, and Philosophy.

The next open meeting of the U3A will be held on Friday 12th January from 11 am in the Yacht Club. Everyone is invited (including non-members) and your ideas will be welcomed.
